Sarah runs The Best Little Hair House solo on East Norton Place. Same barber every time — no queue-jumping, no handing you off to whoever's free.

Regulars have been coming for six years and counting, and the shop even has its own-brand finishing product on the shelf — a 75ml fibre goo, tin and all.

First haircuts get the same care as the six-hundredth: an iPad for distraction, patience for the wriggling, and a shop dog who's usually somewhere underfoot.
